1. Under PMKSNY, more than 7 crore 32 lakh farmer families received first two instalments of Rs 2000 each

Over seven crore 32 lakh farmer families across the country have received the first and second instalments of 2 thousand rupees each under the Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi Yojana amounting to 14 thousand 646 crore rupees. An official source said Uttar Pradesh with over two crores twenty lakh farmer families topped the list followed by Andhra Pradesh with 72 lakh and Maharastra 50 lakh farmers. PM-KISAN envisages covering approximately 14 crore 50 lakh beneficiaries across the country subject to exclusion criteria.

2. UDAN scheme added 8 more air routes 

The flights connecting Kolkata and Shillong will be served by IndoGo while the others will be operated by Alliance Air. The UDAN (Ude Desh Ka Aam Naagrik) scheme aims to make flying affordable besides connecting underserved and unserved airports across the country. India ranks as the world's third-largest domestic aviation market and the government has proposed to hike foreign direct investment (FDI) limit in domestic air carriers from existing 49 per cent. The country's aviation sector is fast expanding its capacity expansion with the addition of more than 500 aircraft in coming years, providing a significant opportunity for leasing and financing.

3. Government bans Colistin- antibiotic used in poultry industry 

The Centre has issued an order banning the last line antibiotic, colistin, for use in animals. With this ban, the government cracks down on misuse of antibiotics in poultry industry as growth promoters, which is one of the key reasons for growing antibiotic resistance in the country. The Union health ministry issued an order on Friday that prohibits the manufacture, sale and distribution of colistin and its formulations for food producing animals, poultry, aqua farming and animal feed supplements with immediate effect.

4. Defence Minister Rajnath Singh inaugurates Ujh and Basantarbridges in Jammu and Kashmir

Ushering in vast improvement in the connectivity of roads and bridges in border areas, Raksha Mantri ShriRajnath Singh inaugurated the One kilometre long Ujh bridge in Kathua district, 617.40 Metre long Basantarbridge in Samba district of Jammu & Kashmir today and dedicated these to the nation. Terming construction of Ujh&Basantpur Bridges a great achievement by BRO, Raksha Mantri ShriRajnath Singh said that the roads and bridges are the lifeline of any nation and play a vital role in the socio-economic development of people in the far flung regions.

5. CRPF unveils country’s first body protector jointly developed by DRDO for women personnel in combat

JThe CRPF on Friday unveiled the country's first prototype of a body protector for women personnel which it has jointly developed with the Defence Research and Development Organisation. The "gender-specific protective gear" weighs 6 kg and has a different design and layout from the regular fibre-made black coloured body protector which is worn by both men and women police and paramilitary personnel during riot-control duties and regulation of public protests.

6. All toll lanes on National Highways to be ‘FASTag lanes’ from December 1, 2019

To ensure seamless traffic and prevent congestion at toll plazas, the government Friday said it has decided to declare all lanes at toll fee plaza on national highways as 'FASTag lanes' from December 1. However, among all lanes, one 'hybrid lane' will be allowed at every toll plaza to facilitate and monitor over-dimensional or oversized vehicles, where FASTag and other modes of payment will be accepted.

7. 10th Edition of Jagran Film Festival inaugurated in New Delhi 

Speaking at the event, the Minister talked about the recent Steering Committee Meeting chaired by him in Goa for the Golden Jubilee Edition of International Film Festival of India and extended an invite to all the dignitaries present to attend the Festival. He highlighted the importance and impact of cinema on life of people and termed that it is a medium which connects people. He recalled the historical development of cinema in India and the growing impact of Indian cinema as a transporter of India’s soft power.

8. Maharashtra tops in ATM frauds: RBI

Maharashtra reported 233 cases of ATM fraud in 2018-19, the highest in the entire country, Reserve Bank Of India (RBI) data, accessed by TOI, revealed. The data showed that Delhi grabbed the second spot with 179 cases, followed by Tamil Nadu with 147 cases of ATM fraud. In Maharashtra, people lost Rs 4.8 crore to bank fraud, while in Delhi people lost Rs 2.9 crore. The country witnessed an increase in ATM fraud cases in general (up from 911 to 980). Assam, Arunachal Pradesh and Tripura were the only three states that didn’t report a single incident. However, the money lost came down from Rs 65.3 crore in 2017-18 to Rs 21.4 crore in 2018-19.

9. Andhra Pradesh became the first state in India to reserve 75% private jobs for locals

Andhra Pradesh has become the first state in the country to offer 75 per cent reservation to locals in private jobs. Andhra Pradesh Assembly on Tuesday passed the Andhra Pradesh Employment of Local Candidates in Industries/Factories Act, 2019, under which privates jobs across factories, industrial units, joint ventures, private projects will be reserved for local Andhra people. Fulfilling his poll promise, Chief Minister Jagan Mohan Reddy said his government, for the first time in the history of the Telugu state, had provided over a lakh permanent jobs to the locals.

10. Kerala Tourism organized 5-day annual Nishagandhi Monsoon Ragas Music Fest 2019 in Kanakakkunnu, Thiruvananthapuram

Kerala Tourism organized a 5-day annual Nishagandhi Monsoon Ragas Music Fest 2019 in Kanakakkunnu, Thiruvananthapuram. It was held from July 20-24, 2019. It was inaugurated by the Governor of Kerala, P Sathasivam at Nishagandhi Auditorium in Kanakakkunnu.  Eminent classical musicians Parassala B Ponnammal, aged 95, and TV Gopalakrishnan, aged 87, were awarded Nishagandhi Sangeetha Puraskaram, instituted by Kerala Tourism for their outstanding contributions to music. The award carried a cash prize of Rs 1.5 lakh, a citation and a memento.

11. NAM Ministerial Meeting was held in Caracas, Venezuela

India has strongly rejected Pakistan’s references to Kashmir during the Non Aligned Movement (NAM) Ministerial Meeting in Venezuela, saying the global forum can never be a platform for a “self-serving narrative” that aims to undermine the territorial integrity of one nation by another state. The NAM needs to be in the vanguard of those addressing the primary issues of our times that cry for global cooperation, rather than become a platform for venting bilateral grievances between members, India’s Permanent Representative to the UN Ambassador Syed Akbaruddin said on Sunday in his address to the NAM Ministerial Meeting in Caracas, Venezuela.

12. Govt panel headed by SC Garg recommends banning all private cryptocurrencies & jail time of up to 10 years

Dealing in Bitcoin, Ethereum and their brethren may land you in jail in the near future. An inter-ministerial committee headed by Finance Secretary Subhash Chandra Garg has recommended heavy penalties of up to Rs 25 crore ($3.63 million) and a jail term up to 10 years for anyone who mines, generates, holds, sells, transfers or issues cryptocurrency. The panel's recommendations along with the draft legislation, Banning of Cryptocurrency & Regulation of Official Digital Currency Bill, 2019, was put up on the website of the Department of Economic Affairs on Monday.

13. LIC offers Rs 1.25 trillion by 2024 to fund highway projects: Nitin Gadkari

As part of innovative modes of financing to meet India's huge infrastructure appetite, insurance giant LIC has agreed to offer Rs 1.25 trillion line of credit by 2024, to fund highway projects, Union Minister Nitin Gadkari said. Keen on timely execution of the Rs 8.41 trillion ambitious Bharatmala project that aims to lay a grid of highways pan-India, the Road Transport and Highways Ministry has been looking to harness various sources of finances including pension and insurance funds. "LIC has offered us Rs 25,000 crore in a year and Rs 1.25 trilion in five years

14. NPCI & JCB launched RuPay JCB Global Cards

Following the enablement of POS terminals and ATMs in India for incoming foreign JCB card members in 2017, both parties have entered into the second phase of the partnership to serve the need of increasing outbound Indian travellers. National Payments Corporation of India (NPCI) and JCB International have launched RuPay JCB Global Cards which can be used at all point of sales terminals which accept RuPay cards and terminals outside India which accept JCB.

15. Indian bodybuilder Ravinder Kumar Malik bagged the “Mr. South Asia” award at 12th South Asian Bodybuilding and Physique Sports Championship 2019

Indian bodybuilder Ravinder Kumar Malik has clinched Mr. South Asia title. He has crowned the overall champion at 12th South Asian Bodybuilding and Physique Sports Championship in Kathmandu yesterday.  Malik, the winner of 80 kg category, was adjudged best bodybuilder among the winners of nine senior men's weight categories. Afghanistan won team championship by securing a top position with 535 points. Host Nepal finished second with 445 points, while India remained third with 380 points. Afghanistan won a total 15 medals including six gold, four silver and five bronze.
